Raquel Paez Ricciardo
She has Latin Dancing in her blood! With her Ecuadorean background, her Aussie upraising full of Latin music, Spanish language, there was no doubt that her Latin heritage would play a big role in her future.
Previous to starting her own dance studio, Raquel worked in the travel and IT industry, giving her some of the very important skills necessary to run her own business. Raquel believes that organisation is the key to success, and that is why CLDF will be a hit! Raquel has a humbling nature which makes people warm to her quickly.
She is very passionate about making the Latin dance community grow, and has dedicated the last ten years of her life to seeing it flourish. Having been to many other dance festivals is what inspired Raquel to begin the journey towards establishing a festival like this in her home city. She aims to make it one of the largest and most respected in the country, and is sure that with the other talented members of the team, it will happen.
Andrea Paez Warner
Andrea was born in Ecuador and grew up surrounded by the Latino sounds of Salsa, Folkloric, Cha Cha, Cumbia, just to name a few. Like most South Americans she started dancing the minute she could walk. Andrea loves the Latin dance scene and has experienced first hand the growth of it in Canberra.
She is so proud to showcase the wonderful talent in Canberra and thought it was time for the world to see. She graduated at the University of Canberra with a Bachelor Degree in Tourism Management, majoring in Spanish and Marketing. After finishing her university degree she worked as a creative event manager for a top Government website, then as a website manager with the Australian Public Service.
Andrea is very affectionate and friendly by nature and loves to make everyone feel like they are part of her family. She is so excited to be part of this wonderful event, and brings all her skills and eye for detail to make it an event to remember!
